Ahead of one of the widely celebrated Indian festivals Diwali, HTC is all set to build its own e-store within Amazon where it will launch three 4G smartphones ahead of the auspicious festivity.
The mobile phone maker has initiated this step with an aim to get hold of a larger share of the Indian market which is considered to be one of the top four markets globally for the brand.
The smartphone brand will now have 4G phones as a large part of its portfolio in India. It declared that it had missed capitalising on the rising 4G adoption in India, but will now invest heavily towards marketing its products in the Indian market.
The mobile brand possesses its own portal and has another e-store within Snapdeal where it sells devices. Nevertheless, it will give discounts and festive offers on its own e-store on the latest flagship HTC Desire 10.
Banking upon the thriving 4G growth in India, HTC plans to make all its portfolio phones locally by next year end. Besides this the mobile maker is mulling over sourcing components from within the country in 2017.
According to Counterpoint Research HTCs share was 1.8 per cent by volume and 2.6 per cent by value as of quarter ended June 2016.
