Pacifica Group all set to Augment its Reach

In a major growth plan, the Pacifica Group, Thai importer and distributor of 14 fashion brands, has charted to expand its free-standing shops from 80 to 140 over three years. Pacifica’s fashion brands include major players like American Eagle Outfitters, Camper, Coach, Keds and Max Mara.

The group plans to invest an estimated about US$11.3 million, in the store expansion. 60 to 70 per cent expansion will be in mass-market fashion brands, with the balance luxury products, said a senior official.

Earlier this year the company had reshuffled the operations within the group with the buy-out of all minority shares in the subsidiary Pacifica Element, which is in charge of the import and distribution of premium fashion products.

The company will focus on store expansion and imported mass fashion brands because of their tremendous opportunity for growth in the domestic market, both in Bangkok and many first and secondary provinces throughout the country. The group is also looking to expand outside Thailand as well and to materialize the same it has just opened a store in Bangkok, and there are plans to include new stores at major tourist destinations such as Chiang Mai and Phuket.

Under its new three-year business plan, the group aims to increase its sales by 25 to 30 per cent every year and it also expects its overall revenue to grow from Baht 1 billion last year to Baht 1.4 billion this year.

Besides this, the group is determined to increase the number of stores selling NYX cosmetics from 16 to 28 by the end of next year.  NYX cosmetics is one of its fastest-growing brands.
