Snapdeal Gold service to take on rival Flipkart, Amazon

To facilitate its customers, Snapdeal, one of the leading online marketplaces launched Snapdeal Gold, a service that offers free shipping, free upgrade to next-day-delivery and extended purchase protection to the consumer.

This step by Snapdeal is to take on the services offered by rivals including Flipkart’s Assured and Amazon’s Prime.

As per a company statement, Snapdeal Gold, a free service upgrade is available anytime a user pays for the purchase through Net Banking, Credit/Debit card, EMI or wallet at the time of booking the order.

The services offered by the rival companies include Flipkart Assured wherein goods undergo a six level quality check and the company aims to offer deliveries within two to four days. Another service by Amazon, the Amazon Prime offers free delivery of large number of goods on same day or the next day for Indian consumers.

When a customer uses his credit/debit card, net-banking, EMI or wallet for payment, the service automatically upgrades the order to Snapdeal Gold.

Recently, Snapdeal had announced the availability of next-day delivery service for over 5 million products. The e-tailer aims to double the figure to 10 million products by this Diwali.
